Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh has described Emmanuel Emenike’s performance in Sunday’s 2-1 victory in Addis Ababa in a 2014 World Cup as outstanding.
Oliseh who featured in USA ‘94 and France ‘98 World Cup finals, on twitter, showered encomiums on the Fenerbahce of Turkey striker.
“Nigerians please stop arguing about the performance, at this stage, all that interest us is qualification (for the World Cup). Don’t worry be Happy ‘5-Star Emenike’,” Oliseh tweeted.
Also speaking through twitter, former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar savoured the heroics of Emenike, who inspired the Eagles to win the 2013 Africa cup of Nations (AFCON) earlier this year in South Africa saying he will be delighted to speak with the former Spartak Moscow striker.
“Thank you, Super Eagles! Great win. Someone should give me Emenike’s (mobile telephone) number,” he tweeted.
Another former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, on twitter, lauded the victory of the African champions in Addis Ababa.
“Thanks for all of you that supported our Super Eagles, African champions. Please come and pray and support them again it is just half way. Thanks,” Kanu twitted as his predecessor in the national team, Austin Okocha also on twitter, said: “Well done Super Eagles. Winning against all odds”
